What areas does Happy Stork Midwifery serve?

Happy Stork serves families across Northern Indiana (the Michiana area) - including Goshen, Elkhart, South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, Warsaw, Syracuse, Bremen, La Paz, Osceola, Ligonier, LaGrange, Shipshewana and North Liberty - from the Wakarusa office and Nappanee birthing center.

How much does a home birth or birth-center delivery cost?

Most pregnancies are an all-inclusive plan of $3,300, covering all visits, blood work, a viability ultrasound and the professional delivery cost, with a $300 discount if paid by 37 weeks and payment plans available. A super-bill is provided at six weeks postpartum.

Does insurance cover a midwife or home birth in Indiana?

Some plans reimburse for midwifery and home birth, but you verify your own coverage. Many families choose the all-inclusive self-pay plan; either way, we provide a super-bill at six weeks postpartum to help you file.

How far will the midwife travel for a home birth?

Jana travels throughout her Northern Indiana service area for planned home births for low-risk pregnancies. Choose your town above to see the distance and route to the Nappanee birthing center.
